Motherhood has been wonderful…but has also thrown me for some loops.  It’s been an amazing journey and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!  I’m a 40-something year old wife and mom of 6, a homeschooler, with 20 something chickens in my backyard!

One thing I have done right in my motherhood journey is to pass along my love of reading! On one vacation our kids noticed the town we were in had a beautiful library…they really wanted to stop and go inside.  I had to smile to think that my kids were excited to go inside some random library just for the fun of it!

We love to go hiking (some of my kids enjoy it more than others!).  Camping is something I would love to do more of… but that always seems like so much more work than just packing everyone in the car with some good snacks and finding a nice trail to explore for a few hours!

We moved onto our little 3 acre “homestead” a few years ago to try our hands at a big garden, our own chicken eggs, and real grass (in Arizona that’s not extremely common!).  We are learning and figuring out what works (and what doesn’t!) on our little plot of land.

I am a registered dietitian…although I don’t currently work outside the home I do some occasional freelance writing and menu planning.  I enjoy playing around with recipes to include more veggies and beans…my family isn’t always happy with some of my “experiments” but they have learned how to enjoy several foods that I didn’t like as a child, such as cabbage and cauliflower!

What is some semblance of order?

This blog is me… trying to keep up with my wonderful life while trying to maintain some sense of organization.  Join me in this motherhood adventure!  Let’s share our thoughts on creating healthy, happy families and homes.

Join me as I try to create memories with my family while still creating some semblance of order in our busy lives!
